I recently discovered two items regarding the scratchpad.
- swipe activation only works when Virtual Radar is active, hence no moving plane no scratchpad swipe activation.
- leaving scratchpad on activates screen timeout

maybe somebody can give it a try whether it´s only my device.

thx

Quote from SD Manual:-

Scratchpad
This is a simple canvas which you can write or draw on with your finger to jot down quick notes. The contents of the canvas are retained until the app is closed and restarted or until you manually clear it.
In the iOS and Android apps the scratchpad can be accessed easily from the main menu when you're in Go Flying mode and contains multiple pages that can be scrolled through using the 'Next Page' buttons.
Tip: To quickly access the scratchpad swipe your finger from right to left across the Virtual Radar at the bottom of the screen.

Clearly, the Scratchpad is designed to be used in flight only so, ipso facto, you have to be in flying/simulation mode for it to be available. I can confirm that leaving the Scratchpad open invokes screen timeout on my device.

Why shouldn't the screen time out when you've got the scratchpad open, if you don't use it for a time?

...so it's a feature, not a bug. ;-))))

I totally agree. I don't see it as a problem. I was just confirming for Mike@EDTG that it is not his device that is at fault.
